Roorkee Business Network ("ROBIN", "we", "us", or "our") is a private, invite-only alumni business network for IIT Roorkee graduates. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our platform, including through WhatsApp and email.

• Identity information: Name, graduation year, degree, email address, and phone number.
• Professional information: Industry, role, location, skills, and areas of interest you voluntarily share.
• Messages: Content you send to ROBIN via WhatsApp or email, including business intents and requests.
• Verification data: Information used to verify your alumni status (degree details, referral by a verified member).
• Usage data: Response patterns and interaction history used to improve matching quality.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To verify your eligibility as an IIT Roorkee alumnus.
• To parse and understand your business intents and match you with relevant alumni.
• To facilitate double opt-in introductions between members.
• To communicate with you via WhatsApp or email regarding matches and network activity.
• To improve the quality and relevance of our matching system over time.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your contact details are shared with another member only when both parties have explicitly consented to an introduction. We do not send mass messages or broadcast your information to the network.

4. WhatsApp Messaging

ROBIN uses the WhatsApp Business API to communicate with members. By messaging ROBIN on WhatsApp, you consent to receiving messages related to your requests, matches, and introductions. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP or contacting us at [email protected].

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as you remain an active member of ROBIN. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, your profile and message history will be removed from our systems within 30 days.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. Access to member data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
