These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Roorkee Business Network ("ROBIN") platform and the broader ROBIN alumni-network service, operated by Sainath Buildcon and Real Estate Private Limited (trading as Roorkee Business Network / ROBIN). By joining or using ROBIN, you agree to these Terms.
ROBIN is a private, invite-only alumni business network. Membership is currently open to verified alumni of IIT Roorkee and may be extended to additional partner institutes over time. Membership in any partner network requires either:

ROBIN is designed for professional networking and business collaboration. By using ROBIN, you agree to:
ROBIN communicates with members via the WhatsApp Business API and email. By participating in ROBIN, you consent to receiving messages from ROBIN related to your membership, match requests, and introductions. Message frequency depends on your activity. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP on WhatsApp or by contacting hello@robinalumni.network.
ROBIN uses third-party AI language models to read your messages, extract your business intents, and identify relevant matches. Match suggestions are produced by automated systems and are advisory only — the decision to act on any suggestion is yours. See our Privacy Policy for details of the AI providers we use and how your data is processed.
ROBIN facilitates introductions between members based on double opt-in consent — your contact details are shared with another member only after both of you have explicitly agreed to be introduced. ROBIN is a facilitator and is not a party to any agreement, transaction, partnership, investment, or other relationship that may result from an introduction. We do not guarantee any specific business outcome.
Members are expected to treat all information shared through ROBIN — including business ideas, financial details, and personal backgrounds — with discretion. Sharing confidential information disclosed through ROBIN with anyone outside the network, or using it for purposes other than the matter for which it was disclosed, is strictly prohibited.
You retain ownership of any content you submit to ROBIN (including your profile information, business intents, and messages). By submitting content, you grant ROBIN a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, store, process, and display that content for the limited purpose of operating the service and providing matchmaking on your behalf. We do not use member content to train public foundation models.
The ROBIN name, logo, website, software, prompts, and matchmaking system are the intellectual property of Sainath Buildcon and Real Estate Private Limited. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or commercially exploit any part of ROBIN without our written permission.
Core membership in ROBIN is free at present. Where ROBIN offers paid services (such as premium tiers, sponsored introductions, or event access), the applicable fees, billing terms, and refund policy will be made clear before you commit. Payments are processed by Razorpay, our payment sub-processor; the Razorpay terms also apply to those transactions.
ROBIN reserves the right to suspend or remove any member who violates these Terms, or whose conduct is deemed harmful to the network or its members, at our sole discretion and without prior notice. You may end your membership at any time by replying delete my data on WhatsApp or by emailing hello@robinalumni.network. The provisions of Sections 6 (Confidentiality), 7 (Intellectual property), 12 (Disclaimer), 13 (Limitation of liability), 14 (Indemnification), and 16 (Governing law) survive termination.
Your use of ROBIN is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
ROBIN is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service, specific matching outcomes, or the accuracy of member-provided information. Participation in ROBIN does not guarantee any business outcome, partnership, investment, hire, or referral.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ROBIN, Sainath Buildcon and Real Estate Private Limited, and its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, arising from or in connection with your use of the platform or any introductions, transactions, or relationships that result from it. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid to ROBIN in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) INR 1,000.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ROBIN, Sainath Buildcon and Real Estate Private Limited, and its directors, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) your use of the platform in breach of these Terms, (b) any content you submit, (c) your violation of any law or third-party right, or (d) any dispute between you and another member.
ROBIN shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, pandemics, government action, network or infrastructure failures, or the failure of any third-party service we rely on (including the WhatsApp Business API and our AI or hosting providers).
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of ROBIN shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. Before initiating any formal proceedings, the parties shall make a good-faith attempt to resolve the dispute by writing to hello@robinalumni.network.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify active members via WhatsApp or email at least seven (7) days before the change takes effect. Continued use of ROBIN after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ROBIN regarding your use of the platform.
